This was a surprise to see in my Google feed this morning. Obviously, I hoped there would be an English release of this, but Yes Precure 5 has never got an official English dub (though an English promo trailer for it exists, so Toei did consider it at one point) so I kinda doubted it would happen.

Also…this is a SERIES apparently. I thought it was a movie, given how it’s been promoted. Maybe it’s like a movie broken into parts, sort of like Digimon Adventure Tri?

Anyways, just checked, the first part is already on Crunchyroll. Will have to check it out!

(Also hopefully this means Mahou Tsukai PreCure 2 has a chance of making it over here once it starts airing next year)

Sailor Moon Creator Naoko Takeuchi Draws Cover for Blackpink’s Jennie’s Newest Single

I saw this article and was…honestly not surprised. I had already seen the dance performance video for the song by this point (it was released yesterday) and it had a lot of full moon imagery and Jennie in double pigtails. It gave very Sailor Moon vibes.

Also, in case you’re wondering, here’s the cover:

It pretty much screams Usagi manga style art!

I love that McDonald’s acknowledged The Devil is a Part-Timer in their “As Featured In” commercial 😂

SAILOR MOON COSMOS: PART 2

OMG the scene where she fights the evil Senshi and Mamoru…that’s going to be both epic and heartbreaking. In Le Mouvement Final they even put the scene to the song “The Guardian Who Lost Hope” to drive the emotion home.

Happy to see Sailor Kakyuu confirmed. I always thought it was a bummer we didn’t see her in the original anime.

The shot of Galaxia’s outfit forming kind of reminds me of this shot from the opening of the Sailor Stars anime:

I was surprised they didn’t cast Usagi’s actress in this role, but Keiko is one of my faves - probably my fave TBH - actresses from PGSM, so I am still happy about this.

mizusenshisongs:

It’s been a while, but I wanted to post a song for the opening of Sailor Moon Cosmos, since I did the same for the opening of Sailor Moon Eternal (my cover of “Watashi-tachi no Naritakute”). I knew it should be something Stars related, so I went with a villain song I’ve wanted to do for a while – Galaxia’s image song from the ‘90s anime, “Golden Queen Galaxia.” Very metal vibes (which given that her Senshi outfit is basically armor is fitting I guess LOL).

I couldn’t sing quite as deep as Galaxia’s seiyuu Horie Mitsuko, but I tried.

Karaoke from Galaxia’s Sailor Stars single.

Karaoke from: Sailor Moon Center
Background from: Sailormusic.net
Vocals: Me

I DO NOT OWN SAILOR MOON OR THE MUSIC. IT IS OWNED BY TAKEUCHI NAOKO, KAMEYAMA KOUICHIROU, HORIE MITSUKO, TOEI ANIMATION, KODANSHA, BANDAI, VIZ MEDIA, AND COLUMBIA JAPAN. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT IS INTENDED.

Added a new cover to celebrate the release of Sailor Moon Cosmos Part 1! (It released yesterday).

Sailor Cosmos Movie

I love that the Senshi’s “Sailor Star” forms (as fans have been calling that upgrade for years) finally have proper names. Having them have Eternal forms - as well as more cohesiveness in fuku designs - feels right, as they become much more of a proper team at this point (before, the Outers were still sort of doing their own thing, but after they beat Nehelenia, they really did become part of the Inners’ world full time).

Thanks @real-life-senshi for the tag!

The Rules: Tag (9) people you want to know better and/or catch up with, then answer the following:

Four Ships:

Oh boy. TBH I’m not that into shipping really. I guess I have a few though.

Last Song: Not a song per se, but…the Suzume soundtrack on Spotify. It’s actually quite a good soundtrack. Sadly, they didn’t include the songs Serizawa plays in his car during the road trip part of the movie (probably for copyright reasons), but I found a couple Spotify playlists people made of the songs he plays: this one and this one. One of them is “Rouge no Dengon,” the opening song to Kiki’s Delivery Service, which I recognized immediately when I first heard it as that’s my favorite Ghibli film.

Currently Reading: This translation of Virgil’s The Aeneid, translated by David Ferry. It was the one recommended by Blue of the YouTube channel Overly Sarcastic Productions in his Virgil video, so I figured it had to be good. Now, being a mythology buff, I knew something about the Aeneid going into this (I also watched OSP’s video covering it), but I’d never read it in verse before now. And it is actually quite good. Sure there are boring lists of people at times, and Virgil spends like 10 stanzas describing the decorations on Aeneas’s shield in great detail, which I could care less about. While I definitely had to consult the list of names in the back a few times to know what stuff was, the text was otherwise quite understandable as is, which isn’t easy with old texts like this as far as I can tell. Ferry does a good job making it readable but not TOO modern. Would recommend.

Last Movie: The anime movie Suzume, directed by Makoto Shinkai, who did Your Name and Weathering With You. As I mentioned in this post, it’s REALLY GOOD.

Craving: I’m looking forward to the game Hogwarts Legacy. The Switch version got delayed till July and it bugs me a lot. Also, this game called Sea of Stars is finally coming out soon that I backed on Kickstarter. I’ve never backed a video game on there before, so that’s exciting! Besides that…I bought a TON of 3DS and DS games in my pursuit to get the games I wanted before the 3DS eShop shut down a couple months ago, so looking forward to those. In the process, I found out my DS Lite can still read GBA cartridges, allowing me to replay old favorites like Kim Possible 2: Draaken’s Demise and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon as well as games I missed (like all of the Gen 3 Pokémon games - if I can track them down - and Tales of Phantasia, which I just recently found out even HAD a GBA version).

As for non-gaming things…I haven’t been to Disneyland in years, despite living less than 2 hours away from it. Sure, as an autistic person, theme parks can be kind of a nightmare, but I really love Disney movies. Also, I haven’t been there since before the Star Wars land was completed, so I really want to go there and see that, as I’m also a big Star Wars fan.

Also I do miss doing covers on my YouTube channel, I’ll admit. I’d also like to do more collabs, but the SeraMyu cover community seems kinda dead now, especially since our sort of Fearless Leader (and the one who encouraged me to join in the first place) @sailorzakuro seems to have moved on.

sailorheadcanons:

The Negaforce had several dozen human operatives before the Senshi returned, spread around the globe in small cells and serving as cover to prevent multiple national intelligence and law enforcement agencies from finding the true source of the youma attacks. Their distinguishing style of dress earned them the nom de guerre, “The Black Organization.”

This is actually kind of suggested in the Sailor V manga I think. The Dark Agency that Sailor V fights against is supposed to be an arm of the Dark Kingdom/Negaverse, run by Danburite, who reports to one of the Shitennou (Kunzite I think). And they do have multiple branches, as there is shown to be one in Hawaii.

Also in the 90s anime continuity, youma appeared briefly in England during the time Minako was Sailor V, as she fought them there for a bit.

I think it’s also stated somewhere in SM canon that the Dark Kingdom did search all over Earth for the Silver Crystal, not just in Japan.
